Assessment and Qualifications Alliance (AQA) AQA is the largest Unitary Awarding body in the UK, offering a broad range of academic and vocational qualifications for 3 million candidate entries per year. London Tests of English London Tests of English and London Tests of English for Children are scenario based English language assessments for speakers of other languages. They test the four skills and allow students the freedom to express themselves, to show what they can do and how well they can use English. Pearson Language Assessments is the new EFL Unit within Pearson set up to work alongside Edexcel (a Pearson company) to develop, promote and administer these exams.

ACCREDITATION UK A new era and a new name for Accreditation UK! On 10 February 2006 the British Council and English UK signed a new agreement on the operation of the English in Britain Accreditation Scheme (EiBAS), which from 1 April will be known as Accreditation UK, marking the beginning of a new 5 year partnership from 1 April 2006. The new agreement encapsulates our intention to continue to be the best as well as the largest such scheme in the world and to maintain the quality standards which have been set by the UK in the accreditation of English language provision for over 40 years. CILT The Centre for Information on Language Teaching and Research acts as a focal point and a clearing house for information on what in the UK is called modern language teaching. It is designed for language teachers in the UK, but could be a useful starting point for teachers elsewhere too.
