PronSIG’s March book club
Open to members and non-members alike, PronSIG’s first book club of the year welcomes renowned author, educational consultant, and pronunciation expert Donna Brinton. We will be reading and discussing her recent article from PronSIG’s bi-annual journal Speak Out! issue 69 entitled ‘Beyond slip vs. sleep: Diagnosing Pronunciation Skills’ where she suggests a new, more student-centred way to assess students’ pronunciation. Speaker - Donna M. Brinton
Donna M. Brinton works as an international educational consultant in the field of TESOL/Applied Linguistics. Donna is the co-author of several English language textbooks and the co-author/co-editor of numerous professional texts including: Teaching Pronunciation (Cambridge University Press, 1996, 2010). For twelve years she co-edited The CATESOL Journal. Donna’s international experience includes teacher training in over 45 countries, most frequently as an English Language Specialist for U.S. Department of State. A recent project included a guest-edited issue of The CATESOL Journal on evidence-based pronunciation teaching (2018) with John Levis and Ana Wu. Currently, she is working on the 5th edition of Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language (National Geographic Learning) with Marguerite Ann Snow.
