GISIG film club discussion
This month’s film will be the 2003 documentary 'Arna’s children’. It tells the story of how Jewish Israeli, Arna Mer Khamis, founded one of the most influential and important theatres for young people In Palestine - The freedom theatre. It’s also an important testimony to drama’s potential to empower and educate young people.
The film is free to watch on YouTube here so if you’d like to come to the discussion, then please watch it at a time that suits you, then come to the post screening discussion at 6pm UK time on Sunday. The discussion will be chaired by Adrian Underhill and Alan Maley.
Speakers: Adrian Underhill and Alan Maley
As well as being very well-known teacher trainers and authors, Adrian and Alan are both extremely interested and experienced in the area of drama and second language learning.
We’d suggest that participants may also like to watch this much more recent piece about the freedom theatre in Jenin.
