TTEdSIG - in-person PCE: Effective Language Teacher Education in Today’s ELT
Join the IATEFL Teacher Training and Education Special Interest Group for their 2025 in person Pre-Conference Event on 7 April: Effective Language Teacher Education in Today’s ELT
As our language teaching landscape is ever evolving, the 2025 IATEFL TTEdSIG PCE will explore what constitutes ‘Effective Language Teacher Education in Today’s ELT.’ Modern classrooms look vastly different from those of the past, and contemporary language teacher education practices have evolved alongside them. This year’s PCE will delve into the essentials of both in-service and pre-service teacher education, as well as examining how socio-emotional aspects and the affective turn in linguistics and language education are reshaping our approaches to developing teachers. Participants will have the chance to engage in practical and thought-provoking workshops designed to enhance their understanding of current practices in language teacher education. The event will also provide ample opportunities for networking, reflection, and collaboration with fellow teacher educators.
