Christopher Graham (EdTech and Sustainability - Some thoughts from a non techie)
Christopher Graham is a freelance ELT consultant and author based in the UK. He has worked in the field since 1981 in over 30 countries for the British Council, ministries of education and international publishers. He works extensively on Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning projects and CPD design and delivery, particularly in the MENA region. He has a specific interest in teaching contexts in fragile and fractured societies, and in the role that ELT has in engaging with the climate crisis.
Chris is VP of IATEFL and Chair of the publications committee.
He is one of the founders of ELT Footprint, a 2020 British Council ELTons winner and sits on the EVE – Equal Voices in ELT mentoring committee

Pete Sharma (The environmental impact of generative AI: How do we move forward?)
Pete Sharma is an online teacher, teacher trainer and ELT author. He is a regular conference presenter and the co-author of several books on educational technology. Pete worked for many years as a pre-sessional tutor in EAP (English for Academic purposes) at Warwick University, UK. He was previously a committee member of the IATEFL Learning Technologies SIG and editor of the CALL Review 2008 – 2009. Pete has a Masters in Educational Technology and language teaching. He currently uses AI in materials creation and curates a website which critically explores AI: Pete Sharma AI
Tilly Harrison (Out of sight, out of mind? The hidden social costs of AI.)
Tilly Harrison is an Associate Professor at the University of Warwick where she has worked since 2003, mainly teaching postgraduate courses in TESOL. She has worked as an English teacher in Sierra Leone (Voluntary Service Overseas), France, Spain and Japan (Japan English Teachers Programme). Since doing her PGCE in TEFL/TESL (UCNW, Bangor) her special interest has been the uses of technology in language teaching. She was Coordinator of the IATEFL LT SIG (then known as the Computer SIG) from 1996 to 2000. She gained CMALT status in 2021. Her current interests are AI, Virtual Reality and corpus linguistics. Tilly is also a committed member of UCU, the university staff trade union.
Penelope Mosavian (Green, Greener, Greenest: Evolving AI Education for a Sustainable ELT Future.)
Penny is Assistant Professor/Director of Studies of Short Courses, in the Department of Applied Linguistics at the University of Warwick. She has over 35 years of experience of English Language teaching, working with students from all around the globe, as well as extensive teacher training experience in the field of ELT, and more recently, the integration of Educational Technology into teaching and learning.
Penny has worked both at home and overseas on a range of research projects for Warwick University, collaborating with a range of external organisations, such as the British Council, investigating the use of technology to support teachers in their classrooms. She is an active member of the University’s Technology Enhanced Learning Forum and Active Learning Network. In 2022, she qualified as a Learning Technologist with Certified Member of the Association of Learning Technologists (CMALT).
Maria Diakou (Growing Green Minds in an AI Era: Embedding Sustainability in Primary Language Education.)
Dr Maria Diakou is currently working as a Deputy Head for the Cyprus Ministry of Education, and a part-time lecturer at the University of Nicosia. She is also working as a faculty member at Frederick University. She has been teaching English as a foreign language for many years. She holds a Master's in Applied Linguistics and a Doctorate in Education. She is currently the Coordinator of IATEFL LTSIG (Learning Technologies Special Interest Group). She is also a Consulting Member of the MA in CALL committee of the Cyprus University of Technology, giving suggestions, support, and feedback to evaluate and adapt the MA programme to meet the needs of language instructors in schools. She has authored articles on early EFL language learning, technology, and multicultural education. Her research interests are on technology language learning and multicultural education.
