PRONSIG - Sound Substitutions or Syllable Structure errors?

Teaching pronunciation is something that many teachers find challenging as discussions during PronSIG’s latest Pronunciation Café illustrated. This easily accessible session will look at the difference between sound substitution and syllable structure errors in English pronunciation and how to recognise them. Using a metaphonological (i.e. thinking and talking about sounds) approach, participants will increase their metalinguistic awareness of sounds (e.g. how long or short a sound is) and begin to think about how students could use this knowledge to correct their particular sound errors.
